SOCIAL AND VALUE ISSUES
We have the duty to protect the life of an unborn child.
..there is purpose and worth to each and every life.
Both quotes by Ronald Reagan.
Pro-life: Life begins at conception. Always.
Should there be times when abortion is allowed? Yes, but this is to be very, very limited to Rape, Incest and when the mother's life is truly in danger. Partial birth abortions have been done when it is said the mother's life is in danger. But if that were true it would be better for the mother to have the baby delivered by C-section or regular delivery. As opposed to stopping the delivery, turning the baby around, delivering the body, then stopping again to suck out the child's brain, and then delivering a dead baby. I do not apologize. There is no excuse for this procedure in a civilized America. Also, early in a pregnancy, decisions regarding the mother's life being in danger should be reviewed by the hospital's ethics committee and at least three obstetricians.
Rape is a horrible violation for anyone to endure. Much counseling is needed and those subjected to rape have a difficult time dealing with this violation to their body. Most rapes, however, do not result in pregnancy. Statistics show that only between 1% and 4.7% of rape victims become pregnant. (We must be careful, as there are many feminists that feel sex in marriage is rape!) Good counseling and education is very important and must be provided to the victim. Many women who have been raped and became pregnant have either kept the baby or placed it up for adoption. Others have opted for abortion. These women are very willing to counsel others going through the same horror of rape that they suffered, but let us remember that the baby has done nothing to deserve torture and death.
Incest is also a horrible problem and violation to a person?s rights. It is very similar to rape. The perpetrators of this need to be persecuted to the full extent of the Law.
Abortion has been around for eons. Abortions were performed during the Roman Empire. But in America, they have started in earnest as a means of eugenics (the study of methods of improving genetic qualities by selective breeding.) Yes, using abortion as a method to get rid of the, so called, undesirables of society. Just who do you think those undesirables were then and who are they now?
Marriage: The union of one man and one woman
There has been a war raging in this country against the institution of marriage for decades. This war against family values includes the marriage penalty, a taxing system that punishes a couple when they get married and encourages couples to live together without marriage, rather than endure the tax penalty. I am not sure most gays have figured this out yet, but their goal (or rather the leaders goal) is to destroy marriage all together. The purpose of marriage includes procreation. Studies have shown that children are most stable when they have a father and mother in a loving relationship.
This is America, and Americans have the right to associate however they want but when that lifestyle is forced on others, those others' are having their liberty restricted.
