Second Amendment

THE SECOND AMENDMENT

A well regulated Militia,

being necessary to the security of a free state,

the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

2nd  Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is,

as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Thomas Jefferson

Americans have the right and advantage of being armed -

unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.

James Madison

When governments fear the people, there is liberty.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny .

Thomas Jefferson

The Diagnosis:

Ban Guns. Many in this country want to ban guns. But for this pesky amendment, they may have gotten their way.  Every country that has banned guns crime has increased. and tyranny has moved forward.

Control over ammunition. One trick the current government has been trying is to limit ammunition and thereby have a back door to banning arms.

The Rx:

The above quotes say it all. Our founders were very wise, they intended for the citizens to keep and bear arms (and with ammunition). A recent Supreme Court decision upheld this amendment by overturning the hand gun ban in Washington DC.  But we must be vigilant because the those wanting power and control will not easily give up .
